Nawalgarh

Nawalgarh is a town in Jhunjhunu district of Indian state Rajasthan. It is part of the Shekhawati region and is midway between Jhunjhunu and Sikar. It is 30 km from Sikar and 39 km from Jhunjhunu. Nawalgarh is famous for its fresco and havelis and considered as Golden City of Rajasthan.

Khimsar

Khimsar Fort perched on the edge of the great Thar Desert, 90 kms north-east of Jodhpur, this is amongst the premier heritage hotels of India. Unspoilt and well preserved, like a royal manor, this fort is spread over 11 acres of sprawling lawns, orchards and open courtyards.

Dhawa Doli Wildlife Sanctuary 40 km south west of Jodhpur, once can spot blackbucks, partridges, desert fox and blue bull or nilgai at this sanctuary.

Sacchiyamata Temple : The Sacchiyamata temple is placed in Osian, small town situated 27 km away from Khimsar. The temple is in a decrepit state but yet it's the major attractions of Osian.

Places Around Khimsar

Jodhpur is the largest city in the entire Marwar region and one of the most famous tourist destinations in Rajasthan. Major tourist attractions in the city include the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Mahendragarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, and Mandore Gardens.

Osian is a small place situated around 27 km off Khimsar and known for its sixteen ruined Jain and Hindu temples. These temples date back to the eighth and eleventh centuries. The most important temples are the Sachhiyamata Temple and the Jain Temples. While the Hindu temples are in a dilapidated condition, the Jain temples are well preserved.

Nagaur is around 43 km away from Khimsar and famous for its cattle fair. Thousands of people bring camels, bullocks, and horses for sale. Camel races and other sporting events are organized at this fair.

Udaipur ( City of Lakes) was founded by the Maharana Uday Singh II in 1553 as the new capital of  Mewar kingdom, Udaipur often referred as the “Venice of East is indeed a spectacular city. The landmark of Udaipur is “Lake Palace Hotel”, the Maharana’s Summer retreat on a small island in the center of Lake Pichola. The present maharana still lives in the section of city Palace.

Miniature painting has been a tradition in Rajasthan for Centuries, Udaipur, in particular, is famous for its tradition in this style of paintings. The discipline requires an abnormally a steady hands as the tip of each brush contains only a single hair.Best of the miniature painting can take almost one to two years to complete.

Dungarpur’s rise to tourist fame is thanks to the exceptional architecture of its palaces and royal residences. These stone structures are adorned with 'jharokhas'(windows)and built in a style that was born during the times of Maharawal Shiv Singh (1730-1785 AD). Dungarpur’s goldsmiths and silversmiths are skilled artisans Famous for Their lacquer-painted toys and picture frames.

Dungarpur was founded in 1258 AD by Rawal Veer Singh, the eldest son of Karan Singh, the ruler of Mewar, after he drove out the local Bhil chieftain named Dungariya. Later rulers of Dungarpur added to the town’s architectural heritage.

Dungarpur is a gem city that adds a feather to the cap of Rajasthan tourism. It is known for their artistic skills of toy-making; gold and silver photo frame-making and paintings on the rocks,  A land inhabited by Bhils and the Dungarias, this travel attraction in Rajasthan is nestled in foothills of Aravalli with opulent wildlife and fertile plains. Kota
